Ovarian and fallopian tube removal is a surgical procedure to remove one or both ovaries and one or both fallopian tubes, which is usually required in the diagnosis or risk of ovarian cancer. Ovarian and fallopian tube removal procedures can be performed either with a large open incision in the abdomen to access the ovaries, or laparoscopically, which is a minimally invasive surgery.

No; before operation MRI, CT, tumour markers are needed. After than a decicion is made the type of operation. And if there is suspect of ovarian cancer totally excision of salpingoooferectomy is mostly needed mostly bilateral and mostly with hysterectomy also. Only if the patient has a child desire; a desicion is needed to evaluate the risks of cancer and child.

What happens to the ovary when the fallopian tube is removed?
